Stuck!

Okay, after reading everyone else's blogs I see that I am a slow blogger. Anyway, we have completed our homestudy visits, but we are waiting for the paperwork to be finished. The social worker from our homestudy agency (not Dillon) called this week to ask a few questions for the homestudy. That was fine, but all the information he needed I had already given him!!! Is he just lazy or scatterbrained or what??? So now I am going through and finding all of the information again so I can call him Monday and let him know.

We did get a fingerprinting appointment for May so that was great!! The waiting is killing me. I am so afraid Samuel will lose all of his close friends to adoption before we get there. I think that is what hurts the most.

On the bright side we did get the boys matching comforters for their beds. That was very exciting. I was not going to buy them because we need every cent for the adoption, but someone in our church gave a gift card for that specific purpose. God is sooo good!

Another God thing, before we started the process I had Samuel and a little girl picked out from the waiting list. By the time we got started the girl had a family. I was a little disappointed but that was great. I just found out today that the little girl is Rachel's Sera, who is now home!!! The really cool thing is that we were going to name her Sarah!! I think God is the best. "Shackles" has just come on and I think I might just dance and praise God for his wonderful grace. Until next time.

Homestudy Visit # 2 Complete!!!

YEAH!!! We completed one more step in this looonng process. Today we had our individual homestudy interviews. Now we have to have our in home visit and wait for paperwork. It has been a very long day. We left home at 7:00am this morning to drive to Atlanta and finally returned at 9:00pm. Thankfully the kids were great through all of the traffic and long rides. We enjoyed watching the planes fly overhead as we traveled. Anyway, after a long and grueling day of riding I came home to see a new picture of my beautiful boy. I so want to put a smile on his face. He is so precious and I just want to love on him and let him know all is right with the world.

First Homestudy visit

Today was our first homestudy visit in Atlanta. We left our house at 6:30 am to be there by 11. The kids did a very good job riding and then behaved very well while we talked with the social worker for an hour. Really to me the meeting was pointless. It was an introductory meeting and they wanted to know why we wanted to adopt. That was it. We were also given a packet of papers to fill out that are very much like Dillon's app.2. Anyway, I feel as though I am drowning in a sea of paperwork. (And this too shall pass.)
We then left Atlanta and drove four hours to Jim's parents. Again the kids did wonderful (slept most of the way). Thank you Lord for a safe trip and a quiet trip. We will go back two more times next week and then the social worker will come to our house. Please pray everything goes quickly and smoothly.
