We are home!!!!!

I am so glad to report that we made it home without incident! Samuel did great on the flights and was fun to travel with. Jim is a little tired from carrying him around, but I told him that was his labor pains! When we arrived in Savannah the children came running down to the terminal area. We were so excited to see them! My parents were there and my dear friend Heather and her 5 kids. I think Samuel was a little overwhelmed thinking that they were all going home with him. Samuel started talking with the kids on the way home and by the time we made it to my parents he was laughing. He even had my mom pick him up and rode with my dad on the golf cart. For a kid who has been so shy around strangers, even Vietnamese, he really has taken to our family. We are now at home and I am so excited to see the kids all playing together. We will see how things go when we get ready for bed. I was also happy to find two huge signs on our porch. One from our oldest two and Heather's kids and the other from the Awana kids at church. It really touched me and made me appreciate the people around me even more.
Now I was ready to stay in VN and live forever, but to step foot on my parents property where neighbors are far and few between and cars are scarce, I was thankful to be home. Peace and quiet is great!
For those of you who are yet to travel, a few notes. When Loc schedules to pick you up from the hotel, trust him. He told us he would have a taxi for 4:00 and our plane left at 7:00. I was worried because it is an hour drive to the airport so I asked that we leave at 3. Well, we got there and got in line to get tickets and check luggage and the woman sent us back. They won't let you check until two hours before. So had I trusted Loc I would not have been standing around the airport! Also, Cathay Pacific had nice stewardesses and folks but the room was small. I mean teeny tiny. Definately check the seat space for other airlines. Also, on our last flight before the states we went through security and then just as we were about to board the plane they hand checked carry-ons. Drinks that had just been bought were thrown away. All is well and I will continue to post for anyone interested.

Amy so glad to hear you guys made it home safe and sound. Alex was asking about Samuel last night.

I know your get lagged but when or if you get an opportunity to post a picture of Samuel at home I think it'd help Alex understand that Samuel is with his family now. He has definately been concerned about Samuel and wants to see his picture every day.

I hope your transition home continues to go well.

Hey Amy!
I've thought of you throughout the day. If I had not been to China and back this school year, had 7 trips with Ellie to Jacksonville, I would have taken the day off and we would have been at that airport greeting this morning. But, we did our readoption today, so one more reason we couldn't be there.

We can't wait to meet Samuel in person. You're not, by chance, ready to get in a car and drive to Blackshear in the next day or 2, are ya?

Just kidding, I KNOW jetlag. Don't forget to ask for help when you need some rest.

Welcome home! We enjoyed following your trip and even Bobby was asking if you and posted anything. I interpret that as excitement. Thank you for sending us an update on Vinh and for snapping a few pictures, which I am sure we will get soon. Samuel sounds like a dream come true and things sound very promising for a smooth transition into your family.
