God is Good!!
Can I just say that God is good!! Last week Jim had a word from God that kept coming to mind and that was "You can't out give God." Then this Sunday, the message was all about giving to God and how you can never out give Him. And I have had a small clip of a song floating thru my head the past couple of days and that is simply "Jehovah Jireh, our Provider." And let me tell you He does provide. Just this week I had to take Sam to the dentist and that was going to mean being out of the house thru lunch. We had already decided to eat out this past Sunday and I really didn't want to spend the money to eat out again on Tuesday. However, God showed up and when the nurse walked Samuel out she had a certificate for a kids meal, not only for him, but for all three kids!! Woo-hoo!! That meant all I had to do was buy something for me. I know for some that sounds very trivial, but for us during this particular season of seeking God's provision on a larger scale, that just proves He cares and will provide!!!

Randomness...
I can't really come up with a title because this post is very random. Friday brought a close to the Homecoming week at Jim's school. We won the game by a landslide. (Which is usually what happens more often than not.) So then we proceed into the lunchroom for 5th quarter. This is lots of fun. There are finger foods, the seniors are introduced and then the dj plays some music. Of course the kids kinda dance a little and then they clear out. Then us adult folks start to dance. Well, let's just say I got my aerobic workout dancing. We did all the line dance things the kids did (we had to wait until they left so as not to embarrass them or ourselves) and of course a few things from our generations. One of the songs the dj played toward the end was a Grease mix. Well, I was singing away as this is one of my all time favorite movies. It got to the song that they sing at the fair and I think I'm John Travolta and slide across the floor on my knees!! I lost a little skin and my knees hurt, but all in all it was fun.
Saturday, I spent the day by MYSELF!!!! Jim refused to do anything but rest, which was fine with me. So I went shopping. I bought a few Christmas presents and just enjoyed being out. I was delighted to come home and find that my sweet family had cleaned up before my arrival.
Today was church and it was great! However, Jim did embarrass me by revealing my Friday night adventure to the whole SS class. The only thing is he gave them just enough information for their minds to wander. This totally mortified me!!
Okay, a quick switch of gears. I want all my bloggy friends to pray and hard!! God has put a strong desire on my heart to adopt a specific child. However, we don't have the finances and I know we will not have much support. Support I can do without, but there is money attached to an adoption. Please pray that God will provide or clearly show me that this is not His plan.

High School Fun...
Well, this weekend my husband took his band to a competition at my old high school. It was lots of fun to see folks I knew and my old band director. His high school was performing also, so he got to visit with his director a little. Ah, the memories. This week is Homecoming for his school. That too brings back lots of memories. This is a short posts, but I would like to hear some of your favorite high school memories.

God is Good!!!!
I just wanted to share how good God is. There hasn't been a big event, just a simple walk and then relaxing on the trampoline and staring in wonder at the beautiful night time sky. I have been wrestling with some adoption issues and proceeding with the next one. I covet your prayers. In the meantime I am resting in God's greatness and knowing He has the details worked out. It may be out of my comfort zone and I may lose all my "friends" but I know God is there and He challenges us to lose it all for Him. I'm here Lord, reporting for duty. What is Your assignment?

You might be a redneck...
Well, you've all heard the joke... You might be a redneck if you go to a family reunion to pick up chicks. Well that totally describes my son today. We went to a family reunion and there was a little girl there that my son remembered from his one year of public school. Well, we couldn't remember her name and he was too shy to ask. So when everyone is going around telling about their families he finds out her name is Alanna. He just grins. Then when we get ready to go he asks if he can go back in for just a minute. Sure. He comes out and I ask what he had to do. Well he had to go look back in the address book and get her phone number! What?!?! I was very tickled at that. We don't agree with the whole "couple" thing at this age, but still it was humorous.
Today Grace and her daddy made a desk for her Ruthie doll. She was so excited and has debated giving Ruthie the desk now or for Christmas. Sam, well, he's just Sam. Keeps me in stitches.
In other kinda cool news. Our star football player at Jim's high school for the past several years has moved on to college. He is playing at UGA and actually saw quite a bit a play time against LSU yesterday. It was kinda nice to hear this small town mentioned. Washaun Ealey was even named the "Subway Sub of the Day"
