I dropped my oldest off at college today! Well, not exactly. Jim is having band camp at one of the local colleges and Blake decided he wanted to spend the night with his daddy. I actually got a little emotional watching my 7 year old walk down the walk-way to the building his daddy was in carrying his luggage. I know that sounds hokey, but really watching my son grow up is becoming difficult. He is getting to the age where he wants and needs to do more things with his dad than me and that is hard. I am a very blessed momma who is very proud of my children.
Grace is excited because with a new football season comes a new dance season. She says this year she wants to do something on the field with the dance girls. Jim is doing one classical show so she might get to don a tutu and do some ballet stuff. That would be cool!
Samuel is in for the ride of a lifetime as the season begins. This will be his first football season and really his first major experiences around the band. I can't wait for him to attend his first football game and half-time show. This will definately be a year like no other.

School has begun!
Oh, the joys of homeschooling. Now I know for most folks school has not started but we started this week here at home. I did this for two reasons: 1. Jim has started back so we might as well also, 2. I wanted to be sure I could do two kids, if not there was still time to enroll them =). Let me tell you that in the three days we have been at it I have wondered if I am crazy. Yesterday was the worst, it seemed everything went haywire. Then today I had one of those "that's why I homeschool" moments. After school was over and we were having quiet time I peeked in Grace's room to see her having a tea party with her baby doll. Now I know this could happen any time, but if I sent her to school these precious moments would be far and few between. I did take pics but of course they are film (sorry Robbie).
The boys are doing great! However, I do think I may have to work just to keep them fed. These two can really eat. Samuel can get up from the table and 30 min. later say he is hungry. Sometimes I just don't know. I mean you can still see ribs!!! Has anyone else faced this issue? Should I be concerned about his eating? Or is it just a growth thing?
I am blessed to be the mommy of these great kids!

The worst blogger!
So I am the worst blogger in all the world. Yesterday, the kids and I traveled to my hometown to visit with friends. By the time I made it home, one of my friends had already posted about our visit and the other was soon to follow. So now it is my turn. We had a great time with Robbie, Sabrina and all of the kids. It was quite a mix with 7 kids 7 and under plus Robbie's three teenagers in and out. To add to that was the fact that the kids had heritages from all over Asia (Japan, China, Vietnam, and the Philippines). We had a really great time visiting and catching up as well as sharing adoption stories.
Today Grace, Samuel and I took Blake to Macon to meet up with Jim. The two of them were going to a Braves game. Blake was then going to spend the rest of the weekend with Jim and his unit. I know this is a very exciting time for him, but I tell you it's putting me on my knees. As I was dropping him off I told Jim to "take care of my boy." He then gently reminded me Blake was his boy too. I do have a couple of pics on my phone Jim sent so when I figure out how to transfer them I will.
The last of the NT families will be traveling this week. This makes me both happy and sad. I am glad to see the children brought home, but so sad to not be able to send pics directly to the nannies. I pray adoptions will open back up soon. Wow, this has been a pretty long post. Maybe pics tomorrow.

Yeah for Insurance!!
So I know the title sounds kinda weird, but we received our new insurance cards this week with Samuel's name on them. I never thought I would get that excited over something so mundane. Even though we have not officially changed his name and such for another month or so, they put his new name on the card. That made it feel a little more real.
In other happenings, life has been crazy. Jim has been gone doing his two weeks of summer training with his unit. During that time one child becomes ill, a father to cart to the doctor, a mother who is ill, two houses to keep up (hers and mine) and other happenings around the farm have completely worn me out. I now know I would never make it as a single mom. If anything ever happens to Jim before the kids are grown, I will be looking for a husband quick (ha!) No really, this has made me appreciate him more. He has been gone like this before, but for some reason this year it is harder.
We will be starting school around here next week. We homeschool so we begin when we wish and I chose next week. Jim will be home and working so things will fall back into a routine. I'm a little apprehensive (sp?) about teaching two. Thus far, Grace has not really had to "have" school, but this year she is kindergarten age. Even though technically I don't have to stress, I am! Let's hope I can teach two at a time and keep one other one entertained. Sure to be more news next week.

4th fun!
Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday Ms. Sherry! Happy Birthday to you. Hope you have a great day.
By the way, our 4th was fabulous. We had fireworks up at our clubhouse and they were beautiful. Samuel had to be sitting in someone's lap but he loved it. Once he tried counting them as they went off. It was really lots of fun to watch him. He would plug his ears and his face would light up.Blake and some of his buddies had more fun playing with the boxes that the fireworks came in. All in all it was a great 4th!
